Saving Cash by Purchasing Used DVDs
I’m what you might call a major motion picture and Television buff. DVDs of movies, TV shows and series is what I collect. The price of buying DVDs is going up. Which makes it harder for me to add a few DVDs in my collection.
So I will not have to go to the bank and withdraw money just to acquire DVDs, I thought of a notion. I purchased several used DVDs. I have learned you should be careful in places you get them. As an example, I have found a few DVDs at yard sales, gotten them home, and found out they wouldn’t work for one reason or another. It may have been that they were simply poor copies, or even they had scratches on them that prevented them from playing.
I get my used DVDs from a lot of places. Even to spots you least expect of marketing used DVDs. A number of the larger Pawnshops may actually have a section of used DVDs. Occasionally I go to the library, to see if they are going to sell any of the DVDs, they have in their collection. Every once in a while, they do.
Bockbuster is an execllent place to look at. This is a firm that’s attempting to find methods to stay alive, and is learning to explore untouched markets to do this. One of these simple markets is used DVDs. For those who have had your chosen film come out and you wouldn’t like to spend the 20 or 30 dollars that the shops might be charging, (Depending on whether you are searching for standard or BluRay.) wait for a weeks time or so, and you’ll most likely find it on sale at Blockbuster.
There exists a place called The Wherehouse (www.wherehouse.com) that sells used and new CDs, DVDs and Video games. I have had a few films given to me as gifts, and have bought a handful of too that turned out to be absolute bad eggs. Which I can sell off to the Wherehouse since they buy used stuff. You set up an account, which is really easy, by the way, and then you can certainly search out the name of a film you need to eliminate, and so they will show you just how much you’re going to get for it.
What’s awesome is that I deliver them movies, and they either give me a check, or pay out via PayPal, and will also issue me a credit.
Half-Price Books is one more place I go to obtain used movies on DVD. They have a lot of branches and you will probably find one in your area.
So don’t let the current price of a DVD worry you. Learn from my experience and buy used DVDs!
