Kailua Beachfront Rentals
By availing of Kailua beachfront rentals, you’re making sure that you’re just a handful of steps away from one of Hawaii’s most renowned beaches.
While it is true that this Windward Oahu town is just a mere 30-minute ride from the busy Honolulu, at times, it feels that it’s worlds away. It’s said that several Oahu residents – who have been in town for so many years – have not even taken the time to drive to this part of the island. And truth be told, Kailua residents are absolutely okay with that. To them, it’s okay to have a scenic slice of the Hawaiian heaven all to themselves.
Going to Kailua was always a challenge. Ancient Hawaiians only had a couple of options: hiking over the Koolau Mountains or sailing around Makapuu Point along the island’s eastern shores. Many times though, the Hawaiians take a trail up and over the pali (cliff) – the direct route to this side of heaven.
Locate your perfect Kailua beachfront rentals in the Kailua area. Searching for an alternative vacation rental to the hustle and bustle of Waikiki? If you are, be happy to know that the most beautiful beaches on the island are located in the Kailua town.
Lanikai Beach has the reputation of being the number 1 beach in the state and is voted as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world by the Travel Channel – and it’s situated just off of Kailua. This crescent-shaped heaven is approximately 2 miles long and 50-150 feet wide. The steady trade winds make Kailua Beach one of the world’s preeminent windsurfing and kite surfing spots and a great place to call home for a few days, a week or longer.
Kailua was densely populated before the arrival of Captain James Cook, and was the ancient capital of Oahu’s kings. One of the most celebrated events in this side of this paradise occurred in 1975, when King Kamehameha I conquered O’ahu in his attempt of uniting the Hawaiian Islands. The King granted Kawai Nui Marsh and old Kailua, which included sizeable freshwater fish ponds and saltwater ponds at Mokapu, to warriors and chiefs who had assisted him. The land was also used for many different reasons: agriculture (e.g. sugarcane, taro, rice) and cattle raising. Many ancient temple ruins, such as those at Ulupo Heiau State Historic Site, are in the area.
Kailua beachfront rentals have everything from small cottages shadowed by lazy trees to massive estates for entertaining or gathering with friends and family.
